The Advanced Laser Technology and Application Group of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been committed to the research of high-power solid-state lasers and their frequency conversion technology. Recently, based on the technological route of triple-frequency generation of ultraviolet lasers from Nd:YAG lasers, the group has broken through a series of key technologies such as high-power nanosecond modulated Q-pulse oscillations, low-wavefront aberration traveling-wave amplification, UV-strong laser thin-film preparation, and high-damage-resistant and high-stability ultraviolet frequency conversion. The prototype of 100-watt-class high-energy nanosecond pulsed UV solid-state laser has been developed.
The prototype passed the on-site test of the expert group, and the average power of 355nm laser was 138.8W, the energy of single pulse was 180mJ, the pulse width was 26.6ns, the repetition frequency was 800Hz, and the power instability of 8h continuous operation was <1.8%, and the comprehensive indexes reached the leading position in the domestic market and the advanced position in the international market.
The 100-watt large energy nanosecond pulsed UV solid-state laser has important applications in the fields of ultra-precision cold processing, laser annealing, laser coating, laser doping and so on.
